What is a Structure?

A structure must be strong enough to support it's weight and whatever load is put on it.

A structure can be natural, such as plants, trees, honeycombs, webs, animal skeletons, or artificial (constructed), such as a car, bridges, cranes, buildings, ladders, roofs, and domestic furniture. a structure contains a product, supports an object and protects.

there are three types of structures:

Mass (Solid) Structures;
Frame Structures;
Shell structures.

Mass Structures

Mass Structures are solid structures which rely on their own weight to resist loads.
Some examples of mass structures are: pyramids, sand castles, snow sculptures, bricks, dam and food such as cakes and breads

Frame Structure

A structure with a skeleton-ty
pe form, such as a bridge, spider web, chair or bicycle.

Shell Structure
A structure with an outer shell and spa
ce in the middle, such as an egg, umbrella, house, tent, tin cans, bottles and other food containers A shell structure may have a skeleton frame that is covered by something.
